In preparation for the Patterson bridge-replacement project, the MTA Metro-North Railroad is advising customers that crews will continue to work on the track-surfacing of the Upper Harlem Line between Wassaic and Southeast from Tuesday, April 23, through Thursday, April 25.

This portion of the replacement includes adding stone in order to raise the existing track so that it meets the profile of the new bridges.

This crucial infrastructure work necessitates the substitution of buses for certain trains between Southeast and Wassaic on the Harlem Line from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, through Thursday, April 25. The MTA notes that the Southbound buses will operate 20 to 40 minutes later than scheduled trains.

The details regarding this temporary change in service are listed below:

  • Southbound (Toward Grand Central Terminal):

From 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., buses will be substituting for trains from Wassaic to Southeast. All scheduled stop will be made at the following stations: Tenmile River, Dover Plains, Harlem Valley-Wingdale, Pawling and Patterson.

Keep in mind that the bus service will operate between 20 and 40 minutes later than the normally scheduled train times. Buses will also connect with regularly scheduled trains at Southeast for continuing service to Grand Central Terminal.

  • Northbound (Toward Wassaic):

Between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., buses will be substituting for trains from Southeast to Wassaic. Scheduled stops will be made at the following stations: Patterson, Pawling, Harlem Valley-Wingdale, Dover Plains, Tenmile River and Wassaic.

The MTA notes that passengers should allow for later arrival times.
